Sake Embassy Germany e.V.
Torstr. 171, 10115 Berlin
Tatenokawa and the French rock band “Phoenix” decided to collaborate out of respect and gratitude to Mr. Kuroda who spent many years working hard to promote sake in Europe. Christian Mazzalai says “Mr. Kuroda was a great master who taught all the beauties of life which include sake, and is still inspiring us every day.” A portion of sales from the sake will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society to support the progression of medical technology.

The Tatenokawa Brewery
Founded in 1832 in Sakata, Yamagata, the Tatenokawa brewery began on the recommendation of the Uesugi Clan. In 1854 Heishirō started sake production, and Daimyō Sakai Tadakatsu named the brand “TATENOKAWA.” It became the first brewery in the region to focus solely on Junmai Daiginjo, the highest sake category. Guided by its “100-Year Vision,” Tatenokawa emphasizes continuous quality improvement and global reach. Pure water and the climate of the Shōnai region remain the foundation of its premium sake.
